Summary
Performance Lab Stim is a phenomenal energy supplement. It provides the perfect amount of caffeine to keep you focused, motivated and free of fatigue all day while keeping side effect risks at basically zero. It then backs this up with a large dose of Tyrosine to enhance cognition (particularly useful if you’re sleep deprived), theanine to keep caffeine side effects to a minimum, and some B vitamins to keep your energy metabolism ticking. This really is an ultra-modern energy supplement. We’ve never used a better stack ourselves.
Performance Lab Stim Review: A truly ultra-modern energy supplement?
Performance Lab Stim is a brand new energy supplement to come onto the market. It was launched under a year ago, but in that time it has become one of the most highly-lauded and frequently recommended energy stacks on the market. But how has Stim become so popular so suddenly? What does it supposedly do that other energy supplements don’t? Aren’t all caffeine pills essentially the same?
According to the Performance Lab website, Stim is an ultramodern energy supplement designed specifically with performance in mind. They claim that it delivers a combination of unique benefits:
- Promotes alertness, focus, and cognitive performance
- Reduces the jitters, crashes and other negative effects of caffeine “overstimulation”
- Raises Alpha brainwaves to balance increased energy with a calm, clear, relaxed mind
- Induces thermogenesis and improves athletic performance
Performance Lab also claim that Stim utilises more advanced forms of both caffeine and theanine than other energy supplements.
This does indeed mark out Performance Lab Stim as a cut above your standard energy pills, which are typically just a blend of caffeine and theanine. Moreover, few energy supplements claim to do all of these things at the same time – decreased fatigue, heightened focus, and steady calmness are difficult to achieve at the same time!
But so far, all we have are claims and promises – meaningless words!
It’s time we took at a proper look at this energy stack to see what is really going on.
Does Performance Lab Stim really work? How can it help you? Is Performance Lab Stim safe? Are there better energy supplements out there right now? What about the cost? For answers to all of these questions, check out our detailed Performance Lab Stim review below.
Performance Lab Stim ingredients
Let’s take a look at the formula of this energy supplement to see what it can really do.
Here is the Performance Lab Stim ingredients list as it is shown on the bottle:
And here is a list of the ingredients and doses in case that image doesn’t load:
- Riboflavin+ – 500mcg
- Vitamin B6 – 750mcg
- Folate+ – 167mcg DFE
- Vitamin B12+ – 2mcg
- Caffeine – 50mg
- Suntheanine L-Theanine – 100mg
- Ajipure L-Tyrosine – 250mg
We’ll now go through these ingredients one by one in a little more detail. In each case, we’ll tell you what the substance does, how it works, and what the clinical data says about it. We will also discuss the doses. At the end, we’ll give you our opinion on the formula as a whole. Please post your questions in the comments section at the end.
B Vitamin Complex
The B vitamin complex provided by Performance Lab Stim is, on the whole, excellent. For increasing energy metabolism, supporting neurotransmitter synthesis, and boosting energy levels, the vitamins and doses we get here are more than sufficient. A combination of B2, B6, B9 and B12 is perfect for enhancing cognitive function while supporting healthy energy levels. These are also the B Vitamins that you are most likely to be deficient in if you are struggling with fatigue.
Natural Caffeine – 50mg
Every energy supplement needs caffeine. That’s because caffeine is the most effective, reliable, predictable, and efficient natural energy booster in existence. We all use caffeine on a regular basis, which is why it’s easy to think of it as a weak, even boring energy supplement. But caffeine is anything but boring. Just a few dozen milligrams can drastically cut fatigue, increase motivation, and sharpen focus.
Studies have shown that 50mg of caffeine is the optimal dose for raising dopamine and norepinephrine levels, enhancing cognition, and boosting energy without raising the likelihood of side effects. Coupled with nootropics, theanine and B vitamins, 50mg of high quality caffeine is all you need to feel effects. We’re very pleased to see that Performance Lab Stim opts for 50mg rather than absurdly high doses like other energy supplements.
Suntheanine – 100mg
Theanine is a great ingredient to stack with caffeine. It works synergistically with caffeine; theanine amplifies the positive effects of caffeine while tempering the side effects. This means theanine allows you to use less caffeine to get the same benefits, while also reducing the likelihood and severity of any side effects you might experience while using caffeine.
If you’re in any way sensitive to caffeine, we strongly advise you to couple your caffeine supplements with theanine. A 2:1 ratio of theanine to caffeine is optimal. Performance Lab Stim once again opts for the much more expensive but ultimately more efficient form of the ingredient – Suntheanine. This no doubt eats into their profits, but Stim is a much better energy supplement for it.
Ajipure Tyorsine – 250mg
Tyrosine is one of our favorite nootropics; always has been. It’s easy to overlook this humble amino acid, but several clinical trials have clearly demonstrated that Tyrosine has some powerful effects on the human brain. The biggest benefit of Tyrosine supplementation is that it supports good cognitive performance while you’re under stress. Studies have found that Tyrosine improves cognitive function in people who are sleep deprived, exposed to extreme cold, placed in distracting environments, and more. There is some argument over how it does this exactly, but Tyrosine’s relationship with dopamine and norepinephrine probably has something to do with it.
Tyrosine is extremely well tolerated by almost everybody, so we think a larger dose is better here. Stim goes further than any other energy supplement currently on the market; it packs a whopping 250mg of highly bio-available Ajipure Tyrosine in each serving. This will keep your brain functioning optimally even while you’re sleep deprived and fatigued.
Our thoughts on the Stim formula
After doing a detailed review of Performance Lab Stim’s formula, we have to say that this energy supplement lives up to our expectations.
This is one of the few natural energy boosters to actually deliver on the promises made by the manufacturer!
The Stim formula is excellent. It goes much further than your average energy supplement in terms of the benefits it manages to deliver.
The main selling point is the combination of ingredients we get. Caffeine, Tyrosine, Theanine, B2, B6, B9 and B12 is probably as good a stack as you can possibly create for the purposes of raising energy levels, enhancing cognition, increasing motivation while avoiding stress and side effects.
The 50mg of caffeine is more than enough to boost energy levels, sharpen focus and increase motivation. This is especially true as it is coupled with Tyrosine and Theanine, which improve cognitive performance and enhance caffeine’s benefits respectively.
But our favorite thing about Stim’s formula is the big 250mg dose of Tyrosine. This is substantially more than you get even in the leading nootropics. Consuming 250mg of highly-bioavailable Tyrosine will rapidly increase focus, improve working memory, and promote a calm, clear mind.
While the “main ingredients” are doing their thing, the B vitamin complex gets to work raising neurotransmitter synthesis, promoting energy metabolism, and supporting brain cell health.
Performance Lab Stim is a complete energy supplement in every sense. We’ve never seen such a balanced or comprehensive formula, certainly not for such a reasonable price.
If you’re just looking for a cheap caffeine pill to keep you awake all night while you work or party, then Performance Lab Stim is probably over-engineered for your needs! But if you want a complete energy supplement designed for performance – focus, productivity, cognitive function and stress management – then this is the best option on the market today.
In our opinion, Performance Lab Stim is the single best energy supplement on sale today. We’ve certainly never tried better.
Cost – How much is Performance Lab Stim?
How much does Performance Lab Stim cost?
Performance Lab Stim costs $39.00 for a 30 capsule bottle. That works out at $1.25 per capsule. This is excellent value for money when you consider the cost of the ingredients in Stim; the Ajipure Tyrosine and Suntheanine Theanine are particularly expensive ingredients.
When you buy 3 boxes of Stim, you get a fourth box for free. This brings the per box price down to $29.25, or just over $0.90 per day – a MASSIVE saving.
If you’ve been looking for energy supplements online for a while, you’ve probably seen a lot of caffeine pills going for around $15. These are usually cheap caffeine pills that provide massive doses of synthetic caffeine occasionally coupled with some basic theanine.
Performance Lab Stim obviously costs a little more than these kind of supplements, but that’s because Stim is not a caffeine pill, it is a complete energy supplement designed for performance. In this context, $0.90 per day is incredible value for money.
Side effects – Is Performance Lab Stim safe?
One of the most important considerations when choosing an energy supplement is safety. Energy pills – and caffeine pills in particular – can be extremely dangerous. There are lots of caffeine supplements out there that contain dangerously large amounts of caffeine. Caffeine overdose is rare, but it does happen, and in many cases it can be fatal.
So is Performance Lab Stim safe?
We feel that Stim is a very safe supplement, even for regular, daily use.
It contains 50mg of caffeine, which is just under the amount that you receive from a regular shot of espresso. This is just enough caffeine to significantly reduce fatigue and sharpen focus but not so much that it will cause side effects in the vast majority of users.
The theanine should help reduce both the risk and severity of side effects from caffeine.
The other ingredients have all been thoroughly tested and are deemed safe for the vast majority of people, even when used daily. The doses used in Performance Lab Stim are sensible and unlikely to cause problems.
However, it is still possible that some of you will experience side effects while using Performance Lab Stim.
For some people, even 50mg of caffeine is enough to cause side effects. These side effects may include:
- Jitters
- Hypertension
- Dizziness
- Anxiety
- Inability to focus on one thing
- Insomnia
- Sweating
Whether or not you experience any of these side effects depends largely on how sensitive you are to caffeine. If you are highly sensitive to the effects of stimulants, we advise avoiding pills that contain caffeine altogether!
It is vital that you calculate your own caffeine intake before using Stim. If your intake is already high, then the extra 50mg in Stim might be enough to cause issues.
In conclusion – is Performance Lab Stim a good energy supplement?
In our opinion, Performance Lab Stim is the best energy supplement currently on the market.
It is much more than a caffeine pill; it is more than an energy supplement for that matter.
Stim combines an optimal dose of natural caffeine with potent, proven nootropics and B vitamins, the result of which is a stack that not only boosts energy, but also enhances focus, increases motivation, supports working memory, and improves stress resistance.
Stim actually enhances cognitive function while increasing energy levels. It is therefore much closer to a nootropic than it is an energy supplement.
The fact that it comes with such low side effect and safety risks, and the fact that it costs less than $1 per capsule, just seals the deal for us.
If you want a cheap supplement to help you stay up all night, then sure, a cheap caffeine pill might be a better option for you. Stim is likely too high-spec for your needs.
But if you want a high-spec, precision engineered energy supplement to help you stay at peak performance during times of intense physical and mental strain, Performance Lab Stim is your best bet.

I recently read your excellent review of Nucific’s BioX4 supplement. Can you tell me the difference between this supplement and Nucific’s Prebiotic Cleanse. And the difference between a prebiotic and a probiotic. Which would you recommend, and which product and price.
I am prescribed 20 mg of adderall 4 times a day for ADHD and extreme fatigue and have been on these for several yrs. I would like to try these in order to get off the prescription Adderall for healthier reasons so my question is am I wasting money and time? Will these actually work for me as far as being able to concentrate daily and just as importantly will this fight fatigue and give me the energy I need? The prescription dose of adderall I am on does a great job, will I get the instant energy I need with this alternative and will I be able to concentrate on daily life as well as I do with the adderall? If you have any help or suggestions please email me back as soon as you are able. I would greatly appreciate any and all feedback on my questions. Thank you very much!
